Description: Introduction to the implementation of computational methods for solving model partial differential equations: diffusion, heat equation and Stokes equations. The finite difference methods, finite element methods and finite volume methods are studied for two dimensional homogeneous and inhomogeneous domains. Time integrators are the forward Euler, backward Euler and Crank-Nicolson methods. Cross-list: CMOR 528. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for CMOR 428 if student has credit for CMOR 528.
