Description: The course will focus on the life and thought of Socrates (469-399 BCE). The reading for the course will include several of Plato’s Socratic dialogues as well as Aristophanes’ Clouds, a wild comedy in which Socrates is mercilessly mocked for his outlandish uselessness and social destructiveness.
