Description: The salience of identity in the study of politics is indisputable. In this course, we explore key questions surrounding identity politics in the non-Western world. We examine how identities shape political behavior, the influence of external factors in shaping identity, and the ways politicians mobilize identities for their own advantage, among other topics.
