Description: This course challenges students to rethink Paris beyond its glamorized images and mainstream narratives, revealing it as a vibrant, complex, and deeply global city shaped by migration, memory, and multifaceted identities. Through critical analysis, creative exploration, and interdisciplinary approaches, students examine what it means to be Parisian today and why Paris stands as a global city forged by centuries of cultural exchange, colonial histories, and diasporic communities. Students who participate in the immersive Paris program will receive 5 credits. The study abroad component is contingent upon sufficient enrollment and access to partner facilities.
