Description: This course explores key material, ideological, historic, and practical issues related to publishing humanities scholarship and book history. Students will understand the distinction between form and content in humanities publishing, as well as create their own examples of analog and digital humanities publications. Students will learn about the development of the book as a material object and form of technology in light of how books and information have been produced, accessed, and used historically.

Topics may include: material and digital book history and publishing broadly conceived (such as scholarly publishing, trade presses, letterpress, zines, manifestos, etc.).
