Description: An introduction to the basic concepts, algorithms and applications in computer vision. Topics include: image processing pipelines, low-level vision/image processing methods such as filtering and edge detection, mid-level vision topics such as segmentation and feature detection, and high-level vision tasks such as object recognition and face recognition with neural networks. The course will involve programming and implementing basic computer vision algorithms in Python. Cross-list: ELEC 447, ELEC 546, COMP 546. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for COMP 447 if student has credit for COMP 345/COMP 546.
