Description: FRESHMAN SEMINAR: THE HERO AND HIS COMPANION FROM GILGAMESH TO SAM SPADE ***** How does presentation of heoric action illustrate the basic values of society? Historical sources including ancient texts, modern mystery stories, and two "western" movies, show the development of a style of community service linking heorism with alienation.
