Description: SOVIET AND POST-SOVIET LITERATURE ***** The course will give students a greater understanding of 20th century Russian and Soviet literature, and a greater understanding of 20th Russian and world literary movements and -isms. The course will also give students an introduction into the relationship between science/ technology and nature/religion/spirituality as portrayed in the works we read this semester. Finally, the course will give students a greater understanding of the role literature plays in comprehending the politics of the nation state in which it is written.
