Description: MATHEMATICAL STATISTICS I ***** The first semester in a two-semester course in mathematical statistics: random variables and their distributions, small and large sample theorems of hypothesis testing, point estimation, and confidence intervals; topics such as exponential families, univariate and multivariate linear models, and nonparametric inference will also be discussed. Required for graduate students in statistics. ***** Prerequisite(s): STAT 581 and STAT 431 or permission of instructor.
