Description: MODERN ARAB HISTORY ***** The history and culture of the Arab world as it has developed from World War I to the present. Themes covered are nationalism, colonialism and Orientalism as they have been understood and discussed in the contemporary Arab world through debates about the question of Palestine, the status of women and the rise of modern Islamic politics.
