Description: This course first covers established optical imaging technologies. Topics include sensing of optical properties and spectroscopy (absorption, elastic scattering, Raman scattering, and fluorescence), ballistic imaging methods (confocal microscopy, two-photon microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, etc.), optical coherence tomography, and diffuse optical tomography. This course also introduces emerging optical imaging technologies. Topics include photoacoustic tomography, optical time reversal (wavefront shaping/engineering), and ultrafast imaging. Cross-list: ELEC 530. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for ELEC 438 if student has credit for ELEC 530.
