Description: In this course, students will work collaboratively to create adaptations of existing stories for theatrical production. We will examine successful adaptations to see how they manage to translate the strengths of their source material onto the stage. At the same time, we will identify texts that we feel can be successfully adapted. In the second half of the semester, our focus will be on writing and workshopping one or more performance scripts, while also communicating with authors and theatres about producing our adaptations.
