Description: Across time and cultures, rivers have signified journeys, crossings, challenges, threats, sources, systems, majesty, transportation, transition, temporality, hope, beauty, and mystery. In this interdisciplinary course we will explore, examine, and discover the metaphorical power of rivers in literature, film, politics, sacred writings, and personal stories-including our own life writing.
