Description: The course is designed to prepare statistics graduate students for the computational aspects of statistical research. Topics will include important algorithms in frequentist and Bayesian computation (optimization and MCMC sampling methods), as well as practical tools for computational aspects of statistical research, including code profiling, debugging, cluster computing, source code management using Git/GitHub, reproducible research, and development of R packages and Shiny apps. The majority of instruction will be in the R programming language.
