Description: Students will gain experience by working on real collaborative projects commonly encountered in practice. The goal of the course is to introduce students to projects where statistics and science meet and interact to produce knowledge. Students will learn to work with domain experts and collaborators to elicit the scientific question of interest, design studies, identify appropriate statistical analysis tools, and communicate results effectively in both oral and written forms. The course also addresses important topics related to developing productive collaborations, including building trust and mutual respect, effective communication, participation in multidisciplinary teams, and reproducible research. This course is also offered at GSBS/MD Anderson Cancer Center as GS01 1723. Repeatable for Credit.
