Description: Taking the 2024 translation of Volume One of Marx’s Capital as our starting point, this class will look at the often contested ways in which some of Marx's most influential interpreters have developed theories of aesthetic modernism, most notably György Lukács, Theodore Adorno, Walter Benjamin, Raymond Williams, and Fredric Jameson.
