Description: A model is a simplified representation of something. Scientific models range from conceptual to physical to mathematical. In Earth and planetary science, one is often concerned with modeling interactions between physical, chemical, and biological components, i.e., with modeling systems. This class will cover the fundamentals of scientific modeling with a focus on Earth systems. Cross-list: EEPS 671. Recommended Prerequisite(s): MATH 211. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for EEPS 471 if student has credit for EEPS 671. Repeatable for Credit.
