Description: This course explores Jane Austen's enduring relevance, from her first novel, Northanger Abbey, to modern adaptations like The Lizzie Bennet Diaries and Persuasion (2022). Analyzing her works and film adaptations, we examine how Austen reflects 19th-century anxieties and continues to resonate with contemporary social issues and romantic nostalgia.
