Description: This course is designed to designed to provide an integrated introduction to basic and applied cognitive science. Topics will include history and philosophy of cognitive science, and examinations of mental processes such as perception, memory, communication, and decision-making, using perspectives from psychology, neuroscience, evolution, artificial intelligence, linguistics, and philosophy. Students will learn through readings, short lectures, discussions, and activities intended to lay a foundation for further study of interdisciplinary cognitive science and its constituent academic fields of study.
