Description: This course introduces students to the basic language, tools, and materials of painting. Students will learn painting techniques and concepts, starting with painting from observation and ending with more student-directed projects. Lectures and filed trips will explore painting through an art historical context as well as a contemporary one. Cross-list: ARTS 301.
