Description: The course will cover art and architecture in the United States from the early national period to twentieth-century modernism. Major artists studied will include Thomas Cole, Frederic Church, Winslow Homer, James Whistler, John Singer Sargent, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Mary Cassatt, Richard Morris Hunt, Frank Lloyd Wright, Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth, Grant Wood, Georgia O'Keeffe, and Jackson Pollock.
