Description: This course focuses on representations of the Devil, demons, and ambiguous spirits in Christian sources from the early medieval to early modern period. Students examine theological as well as ritual sources (blessings and exorcisms), and popular, narrative, dramatic, and artistic representations of evil. Cross-list: RELI 557.
