Description: Second language acquisition seeks to describe the development of a second language. It also attempts to provide an explanatory account of the internal and external factors that guide this process. This course surveys various theoretical approaches to the analysis of second language (L2) acquisition. Previously offered as SPPO 380. Mutually exclusive. Credit cannot be earned for SPAN 380 if student has previously taken SPPO 380. Recommended prerequisite(s): Third-year Spanish or permission of instructor.
