Description: This course provides an introduction to contemporary French theory and philosophy in their historical context, from decolonization and the Cold War to the present. Along the way, we will discuss French phenomenology, Marxism, structuralism, feminism, post-structuralism, and post-continental philosophy, including their impact on US culture. Taught in English. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: FREN 525.
