Description: This course focuses on two fundamental qualities of being human: the production and consumption of food and the need to survive and thrive in our worldly environment. In drawing together the politics and experiences of food, and pairing those with the phenomenon of climate disruption, students will explore their own experiences and histories with food, and be introduced to key concepts and methods in the social sciences to analyze how climate challenges are fundamentally a set of social and cultural issues that are conditioned by inequalities as well as opportunities.
