Description: The Bridge Project: Designing the Perfect Home for Do Ho Suh is a course where students will explore global perspectives on political, architectural, engineering, and sociological issues through the lens of artist Do Ho Suh’s Bridge Project. The artist's ambitious thought experiment envisions building a bridge spanning from his current home in London across the Arctic to his childhood home in Korea. This one credit course consists of semi-weekly lectures by prominent experts in a range of topics and key disciplines who will consider the Bridge Project seriously and weigh in on the various factors that would be necessary to make this bridge a reality. Seminars are open and available to all students, Rice community, and the general public. Students may add two additional credits to work on an individual or team-based project related to the Bridge Project, supported by the making staff at the Moody Center.
