Description: Section 1: - Innovations in Mobile Health - In this seminar, we will study the merging area of mobile health, enabled by prevalent data connectivity, highly portable medical sensors, smart-phones and inexpensive cloud computing. The seminar will involve a mix of lectures, paper reading, case studies and group projects. The course is suitable for both undergraduate (junior and seniors) and graduate students. The course is part of the new ECE initiative on scalable health (http://sh.rice.edu). Open to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Section 2: - This is a graduate seminar class focused on the role of information theory in engineering wireless networks. Students will survey, read, and present both classic as well as recent papers in the area.
