Description: A broad introduction to the history of the cultural, religious, economic and political systems of South Asia, this course explores the centuries-long development of Hinduism and Buddhism, rise of Islamic state power and establishment of British control, culminating in resistance movements among South Asians and establishment of modern nation states, alongside the wrenching experience of Partition.
