Description: An advanced graduate course focusing on molecular genetic studies. Integrates molecular patterning of nervous system with developmental neuroscience using a cross-species approach, with an emphasis on the visual system. Topics include the biochemical and genetic basis for neural plasticity, neurotrophic factors in neural development, and the molecular mechanism of growth core guidance and synapse formation.
