Description: This course focuses on the concepts and techniques necessary to write film criticism and interpretation. Each two-week section will concentrate on a film, sample critical essays on that film and writing about the film to develop their skills, analytic techniques, and strategies for effective critical contribution. This course will draw on films in Hollywood, avant-garde, contemporary and international cinema. Cross-list: ENGL 275, HART 285.
