Description: Course centers on dissidence as a concept and a practice, both ideological and esthetic. Covers a selection of figures, genres, media, and movements of "French" expression from Montaigne to present. Limited enrollment to 12. French Studies majors will read works and write papers in French. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: FREN 582. Recommended Prerequisite(s): Completion of one 300-level course or permission of instructor Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for FREN 482 if student has credit for FREN 582.
