Description: Fall 2016: This course on nanomagnetism introduces the size effects in magnetic materials. Phenomenon like superparamagnetism, and single domain nature of magnetic materials, will be dealt with from a fundamental perspective. This course also intends to throw light on phenomenon like giant magnetoresistance and magnetocaloric effect. The concept of a fluidic magnetic material will be introduced and its engineering and biomedical applications will also be discussed in this brief course. This will be a 1 credit hour course. Repeatable for Credit.
