Description: This course is a survey of Chemistry, as applied to Civil and Environmental Engineering and Sciences. Topics include: introductory concepts of general chemistry; applied physical chemistry; equilibrium chemistry (an emphasis of the course); and organic and biochemical concepts as used in the profession: and a brief introduction to colloid and nuclear chemistry. Each student will be required to write and present an advanced paper on a topic of mutual interest.
