Description: This course examines modern and contemporary art and architecture in East Asia (primarily Chinese, Korean, and Japanese) and examines them transnationally, chronologically (beginning in 19th century up to present day) and thematically, focusing on topics such as tradition, modernity, exhibitions, nationalism, the avant-garde, and globalization.
