Description: In this course, students will learn about a process for new technology venture development. Through experiential learning, students form teams and develop aplan for a new venture. Objectives include • identifying the customer, • performing effective primary market research, • clarifying a value proposition, • developing a customer acquisition strategy, • crafting a business model. At the end of this course, a student should know • how to translate a business model and the assumptions they make about their business into a bottoms up financial model that tells them about their cash flows, revenues, and EBITDA, • how to use that model to track performance and identify errors in the underlying assumptions, and adjust accordingly, and • how to update the model based on actual performance
