Description: Explores the dynamics of shamanism, initiatory practices, otherworldly journeys, spirit control, magic, healing, divination, psychopomy, and social remedies. Study will be transhistorical and cross-cultural, with emphasis on shamanism within early Greek, Egyptian, Jewish, Christina, Hermetic and Gnostic religions. RELI 603: Write 7,500-10,000 word research paper. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: RELI 475.
