Description: In this seminar, we will study recent and contemporary work on distributive justice. The topics to be discussed include the goods with whose distribution justice should be concerned and the principles that ought to govern their distribution, as well as related issues such as desert, equality of opportunity, and the relevance to justice of responsibility and choice. The authors whose work will be discussed include John Rawls, Ronald Dworkin, Derek Parfit, Elizabeth Anderson, and Richard Arneson, among others.
