Description: A study of William Blake's illuminated visionary works, encountering his oceanic, volcanic, mystical, political, radically reimagined Western mythology. We will read slowly and closely several illustrated poetic works-especially focusing on his sublime and terrifying visual art-while making reference to Paradise Lost, Neo-Platonism, biblical passages, Sufi metaphysics, Michelangelo, Tolkien.
