Description: This course will examine the gene therapy field, with topics ranging from gene delivery vectors to current human clinical trials. The design principles for engineering improved gene delivery vectors, both viral and nonviral, will be discussed. Current disease-specific applications of gene therapy in animal models and humans will be presented. Graduate/Undergraduate Equivalency: BIOE 552. Mutually Exclusive: Cannot register for BIOE 490 if student has credit for BIOE 552.
