Description: This course surveys the visual culture of Southern Europe and the Americas during the seventeenth century. We will study the work of major artists - including Caravaggio, Bernini, Borromini, Murillo, and Velazquez - as well as the introduction and adaptation of European artistic models in Central and South America.
