Description: Introduction to the emerging field of synthetic biology. Focuses on molecular biological procedures commonly used to build and characterize synthetic genetic circuits. Students maintain a research quality laboratory notebook and submit a project proposal that promotes the development of novel biotechnology. Taught second half of each semester. Prerequisite: BIOS 211 or equivalent lab.
