CAAM 454 - NUMERICAL ANALYSIS II

Long Title: NUMERICAL ANALYSIS II
Department: *Computational & Applied Math*
Grade Mode: Standard Letter
Course Type: Lecture
Credit Hours: 3
Prerequisite(s): CAAM 453 or permission of instructor
Description: Iterative methods for linear systems of equations including Krylov subspace methods; gradient method for unconstrained optimization; Newton and Newton-like methods for nonlinear systems of equations, unconstrained optimization and nonlinear least squares problems; techniques for improving the global convergence of these algorithms. Theoretical and practical considerations for these algorithms will be discussed. Computer programming in MATLAB is required.
