Description: This course examines the significant medieval European women authors from the 10th-17th centuries, from Italy and Germany to France, England, Austria, and Spain. Using various techniques and media- feminist and gender theory, reader-response theory, staging and performance, films, recordings, slides, journal entries and personal criticism, etc. to access their work, we will combine close readings with a focus on intertextuality.
