Description: The class will focus on the impact of solar activity on the Earth. Topics include solar variability, sunspots, flares, coronal mass ejections and the Earth's responses including mini ice-ages, magnetospheric storms and atmospheric expansion. The physical and observational basis of our current understanding will be presented at an introductory level.
