ELEC 567 - APPLIED QUANTUM MECHANICS
Long Title:
Department: Electrical & Computer Eng.
Grade Mode: Standard Letter
Course Type: Lecture
Credit Hours: 3
Description: APPLIED QUANTUM MECHANICS
*****
Survey the basic principles and methods of quantum mechanics; investigate real problems of contemporary interest, based on solid-state physics and quantum optics. Specific topics: 'spintropic' phenomena and devices, quantum information processing in quantum engineered structures, physics and applications of carbon nanotubes, non-perturbative nonlinear optics, and Bose-Einstein condensation of excitons. Students will present seminars on assigned topics.
