Description: MAGNETOSPHERIC PHYSICS ***** Plasma physics of the earth's magnetosphere, including interactions of the magnetosphere with the solar wind, the ionosphere, and the neutral atmosphere. The emphasis is on large-scale physics, but small scale waves and instabilties are discussed in some detail in cases where they affect the large-scale phenomena. ***** Prerequisite(s): PHYS 480 or equivalent. ***** Course not offered 2004-2005. ***** Instructor(s): Staff
