Description: LANGUAGE AND COMPUTERS ***** Introduction to the relation of computers and natural language. Includes exercises in programming computers to exhibit language-like behavior and using computers to analyze language, as well as an overview of different aspects of computational linguistics (e.g., speech recognition, syntactic parsing, semantic representation, and neural net models) and of the use of corpora and concordance programs to discover syntactic and semantic patterns of English.
