Description: THE ARAB WORLD IN THE 20TH CENTURY, 1918 TO PRESENT ***** Survey of the history and culture of the Arab world from World War I to the present. Topics include nationalism, colonialism, and Orientalism as understood and discussed in the contemporary Arab world through debates about Palestine, status of women, and rise of modern Islamic politics.
