Description: THE CULTURE OF WAR (FRESHMAN SEMINAR) ***** Focusing on the experience and representation of war in German and European literature, theory, and visual arts. Covers the period from 17th-20th century. Not for the faint-hearted, topics include: destruction, ruins, refugees, massacres, terrorism, victims, spaces of battle, the logic of war.
