Description: PRIVATE EQUITY ***** This course provides an overview of the private equity process. Private equity is a rapidly growing segment of the capital markets that funds; mature and growing companies during the prepublic growth phase. Many of these companies are sold to strategic buyers as an alternative to going public. The private equity market also provides capital for LBO's and MBO's. We will examine the private equity market from three perspectives: (1) the organization and operation of private equity funds, (2) the due diligence investigation, negotiation of terms and valuation analysis necessary to make private equity investments and (3) exiting private equity investments.
